Alejandro DeSantos (Born Janurary 5, 1974) is the Emperor of Earth who is responsible for thousands of deaths throughout his tenure as leader of the infamous DeSantos Cartel and even more since destroying the Dark Force.
Background[]
Alejandro was introduced to the cartel life at the young age of 14 by his father Carlos DeSantos but wouldn't rise to prominence until after he took control of the cartel after his father's death in late 1997. Throughout the late 1980's and 1990's, Alejandro and his father would wreck havoc and terror across Nicaragua and the rest of Central America before targeting North and South America in the mid 1990's. Alejandro, as well as his father and brother, are force sensitive and used their connection to the force to place themselves at the top of the cartel hierarchy and eventually take over the world. Shortly after his father's death, Alejandro would become successor to the DeSantos Cartel and would use his rage and anger to attack police stations, DEA agents, and destroy government buildings across South and Central America, catching the attention of the U.S. and Interpol. He would become a leading head of The Grand Cartel Syndicate along with Joaquin Guzman, being the only two major drug lords at the time after the deaths of Pablo Escobar, Don Chepe SantaCruz, Carlos DeSantos and the fall of the Cali Cartel. Alejandro has been corrupted by the dark side of the force in his later years, changing him from a fair and reasonable man who looks out for the betterment of his allies and men, to a brutal and savage tyrant who views his men as nothing more than pawns and mercilessly slaughters innocents and others in his quest for domination. Being the dark side wielder that he is, Alejandro does not have a need for weapons, instead using the force and his lightsaber in combat. Alejandro is shown to have a dangerously high level of intellect as he was able to fool the world into thinking he was dead for three years and was able to overtake the United Nations, kidnap and assassinate the president, and orchestrate major events throughout the twilight years of The Cartel War. He is the most prolific terrorist in global history
The Cartel War[]
Alejandro was the main target of the war after escaping from prison and developed a blood feud with John Cohen, the leader of The Dark Force Agency who was responsible for arresting him, hunting him down, and was the biggest hinderance to his operations. At some point, Alejandro allegedly corrupted and turned Gallus and Mara Walker to the dark side and turned them into ruthless killers as discovered by Abraham in 2016 but whether or not this is true or just a manifestation of his fears is unknown. At some point according to Kix, Alejandro undermined and killed El Chapo though the reason why or how is unknown. Alejandro has a deep hatred for Abraham due to the latter nearly killing him in 2013 in an assassination attempt, the only reason he survived was due to his hatred for the Dark Force keeping him alive long enough for cartel doctors to operate on him. After being saved by doctors, he used this opportunity to lay low and further his influence behind the scenes and resumed his fathers plan of attacking and overthrowing the U.N. Near the end of the war, he lured the dark force into a false sense of security, leaving them to believe that the war was going to end with them winning, however he returned with his knowledge and training he had accumulated during his period of hiding and was stronger than ever, catching the dark force by surprise. He would orchestrate the kidnapping and death of Elena with the help of Nicholas Reeves and would also help orchestrate Kix's death, take the white house, kill the president, the U.N. leaders, and Amanda Waller. He defeated Abraham in a final confrontation inside a Dark Force base at Washington, D.C. but would leave him alive to become traumatized and stricken with grief and survivors guilt over the deaths of his friends.
Post War[]
Alejandro would create death squadrons to hunt down surviving Dark Force and carry out his tyranny as well as creating prisons across the world to imprison political prisoners, and Dark Force agents. He would appoint himself Emperor and with little to no resistance, no one could challenge him. He would create a utopia for countries that submitted to his authority but would destroy, pillage and create dystopias for countries that opposed them, turning them into ghettos and wastelands.
Trivia[]
- During development, Alejandro's alias "Azrael" went through a few name changes before being finalized such as, Ezriel and Azriel, as well as his last name, Madrazo, Garcia, Martinez and Gonzalez.
- Alejandro is inspired by Darth Sidious and Darth Maul from Star Wars as well as Hector Salamanca from Better Call Saul.
- Despite going by Azrael in his early days of leading the DeSantos Cartel, Alejandro and Azrael are two different personalities as will be seen throughout Dark Forces: The Cartel War.
